The honest answer is a range, and here it is: most arrangements from a real florist run $75 to $150, with premium work above that. Here is what moves the number, and what each level actually buys.
What you are paying for
Stems, yes. Also a designer's time, the vase, the cooler full of flowers that didn't make the cut, and a driver who hand-delivers it in water instead of a box on a truck. Supermarket bunches cost less because most of that list is missing: they are sold loose, unarranged, and older.
What $75 buys
A cheerful mixed arrangement, seasonal stems, properly designed. The right size for a desk, a hospital tray, a thank-you.
What $125 buys: Designer's Choice
The designer's full range. This is Designer's Choice territory: you set the budget, the designer picks the best stems in the cooler that morning, and the arrangement fills its vase properly. It is how florists order for their own families. People who know flowers don't pick from a photo; they set a budget and let the designer work.
Set the budget and let the designer work: order Designer's Choice, from $125.
What $175 buys
Premium flowers, more of them, and presence: the arrangement people photograph. Roses and lilies in quantity, orchids, the pieces that anchor a room.
The references people ask about (roses, delivery, Strip hotels)
A dozen roses, arranged and hand-delivered, starts at $124.95 here. Designer's Choice starts at $125. Delivery in the valley is $29.95 per order; Strip hotels carry a $50 minimum and a $24.95 delivery fee.
Why flower prices move
Valentine's Day and Mother's Day are the entire country ordering the same stems in the same week; growers price it in, and so does everyone honest. Out-of-season flowers (peonies in October) cost more and travel further. The Florist Answer to all of it: order Designer's Choice and let the season work for you instead of against you.
